Bluetooth For Printers

Technology is rapidly growing at present that even the wired appliances before can now be used without those long cables. These items function through a Bluetooth device that sends signals to communicate with the other devices connected.

If you would think of machines that can work with Bluetooth, maybe you’ll imagine of electronic devices like the parts of a computer. The keyboard and mouse can use this style of connection, so does the printer.

A simple printer can be turned into a Bluetooth enabled one just by attaching a Bluetooth adapter. You wouldn’t have to worry about all the wires to be fixed because your printer is already wire-free when it uses this technology. Although this is hassle-free due to the lack of clutter made by wired things, how can you properly handle a Bluetooth enabled printer? Here are a few tips to remember while using this new kind of printer.

1. Limited range

Bluetooth is always dependent on the distance it has from the two connected devices. The most advisable length would be 30-330 feet depending on the hardware configuration. When the distance becomes farther, your battery will easily lose its power so make sure that you keep the printer and computer close to one another for better printing.

2. Printing directly from mobile

Sometimes, when you have a great picture on your cell phone and you really need to print it, you can try to detect the Bluetooth system of your printer. When you have located it, just click print then you picture will be made quickly. However, be careful when turning on your Bluetooth device because it can be susceptible to hacking. Just turn it off quickly after using.

3. USB ports

These ports are the main socket for a Bluetooth device. Make sure that the USB port you are using is in proper condition. If not, try using the other available USB ports on your computer for perfect connection.

4. Hacking

This is a very serious issue especially when personal files are stolen and worse a virus is sent to your computer. Avoid setting your Bluetooth device on “discoverable mode” when using it. This will prevent you from showing your IP address to others and your personal device will not be reached by hackers.

5. Enable encryption

For security purposes, always enable encryption on your Bluetooth enabled device. This is also applicable for your printer, of course.

6. Update version

Connection and printing will always be possible if your system and software are always updated. Promptly do this to for good Bluetooth connection.

Just follow these tips and your work with a Bluetooth enabled printer will be easier than you expected. Of course, for quality printing always use trusted makers of inks and toners.

Tips on Eco-Friendly Printing

Printing paper works and other materials are always considered as the most efficient way of studying, reading, and even just glancing on any readable thing that your eyes see. However, with all the printing needs that grow everyday, the environment is somehow affected. So how do you maintain or increase your printing while helping the nature? Here are simple tips for this mind-boggling question.

1. Use recycled paper.
Recycled papers are now made available in many stores. These are made of a minimum of 30% post-consumer waste. Although there are those that are 100% recyclable types, they cost much higher so a lower amount would be okay.

2. Try chlorine free papers when possible.
This type of paper can save a lot for the environment because its counterpart uses chemicals to preserve the color and quality of ordinary paper. Chlorine and other harmful elements that are present on the usual paper add factors for the surroundings to degrade. Chlorine free papers, on the other hand, are earth-friendly and consume only a minimal portion of raw materials.

3. Avoid using metallic or fluorescent inks.
These inks contain a lot of harmful chemicals like copper and zinc that can cause pollution on the environment. Even when the presentations look best on these inks, nature will be the one to suffer with its usage.

4. Minimize page numbers.
Try printing on both sides of a paper to save the amount of paper being used. Also, if possible, use a smaller font size at style when printing to avoid wasted ink and paper.

5. Use all forms of recyclable materials.
For a total eco-friendly printing package, try using remanufactured toner cartridges with recycled papers. It’s two times greater savings for you and for the environment.

It is quite good to change the things we once used, especially those that harm the Earth. It’s about time for us to be responsible and try the eco-friendly products that are available.

Facts about Edible Inks

Edible ink is one of the creative and maybe the only sweet ink for a printer. It is usually used for baking and creating edible printouts as design for pastries.

Its primary ingredient is food coloring that is accredited by the Food and Drug Administration which make it safe to eat, unlike the ordinary printer inks of course.

The use of edible ink is to provide creative designs for pastries and cakes. Using the edible paper which is made of rice or starch, anything printed with the edible ink can be eaten without worrying about poisonous materials.

At present, many bakeshops offer edible photos on their products for all events. You may have encountered this by seeing cakes with pictures that used edible ink and paper.

Although printers used for edible ink must not be used for ordinary inks, it is not the same for printers that were first used for printer inks. You can transform your ordinary printer to a maker of edible printouts by replacing its printer head with one designed for edible inks. After replacing this part, your printer is safe for creating ready to eat images and designs.

Recycled Toners for the Earth

Recycling programs
are much felt nowadays especially in those industries that are actively announcing their volunteerism to claim wastes and reuse these. In the printing industry, this is also applicable and some even offer promos like with free shipping or with payment for those who will donate empty cartridges. So what happens to these cartridges when donated?

Recycled toner cartridges, also known as remanufactured cartridges, are inspected carefully to replace the damaged parts if there are. This is to retain the quality of the cartridge before it is made available for purchasing.

By returning a cartridge, you get to conserve energy and oil that are commonly used when creating new inks and toners. You also save the natural resources that are usually needed in making original equipment manufactured toners (OEMs). Lastly, you lessen the wastes thrown in the landfills that take a long time to decompose.

The big difference between remanufactured toners and OEMS which needs to be considered is the price of remanufactured eco-friendly toners. These are somehow cheaper than the brand new ones because of how it is production. So why not try an Earth-friendly toner instead? It’s saving nature at a lower cost.
